We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to support our Accounting and Operations departments in managing financial and operational tasks.
Job Summary
The Accounting & Operations Intern will provide essential support to both departments, gaining hands-on experience in financial management, property operations, and administrative tasks. This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate looking to develop skills in accounting, real estate operations, and business administration.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Support:
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment tracking, and vendor communication.
- Help maintain accurate financial records and update accounting databases.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including reconciliations and financial reporting.
- Assist in preparing financial statements, budgets, and cash flow reports.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Operations Support:
- Assist with property management tasks, including lease administration, tenant communications, and maintenance coordination.
- Help track and organize operational documents, such as contracts, permits, and vendor agreements.
- Support the operations team in monitoring property performance and addressing tenant concerns.
- Assist with the preparation of operational reports and presentations.
- Participate in property inspections and assist with documenting findings.
General Administrative Tasks:
- Provide administrative support to both departments, including filing, data entry, and document preparation.
- Assist with scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the Accounting and Operations teams.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related field.
- Strong interest in real estate development, property management, and accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Appfolio, Entrata) is a plus.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn.
