PJM Interconnection is a regional transmission organization (RTO) that plays a vital role in the U.S. electric system. PJM ensures the reliability of the largest centrally dispatched control area in North America by coordinating the movement of electricity in all or parts of 13 states. PJM, acting neutrally and independently, operates the largest
competitive wholesale electricity market in the world. PJM manages a sophisticated regional planning process for generation and transmission expansion to assure
future electric.
The department is responsible for enterprise data management, visualization and engineering support for the company. This includes support for various analytical, database and visualization software tools such as:
- Various databases like SQL server and Oracle
- Visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI
- Data engineering tools like Qlik, purview, Databricks, Azure data factory etc.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development, testing and deployment of data pipelines in accordance with PJM’s standards and practices
- Learn and implement data engineering standards and practices in work products
- Research and assist with new features of various tools like Qlik, Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Purview and other tools
- Develop, interrogate and deploy analytical data structures using software
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze and improve IT processes.
- Document technical procedures and create user guides as needed
- Support other IT and business partners with analysis as needed
The ideal candidate should have the following:
- Possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Be self-motivated, a quick learner, resourceful
- Possess strong customer service skills
- Be detail oriented
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to learn new concepts and grow technical skills
- Have and interest data and analysis
Experience with the following are a plus:
- Knowledge of SQL
- Knowledge of cloud computing platforms like Azure, AWS or Google.
- Database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres etc).
- Visualization and Analytical tools similar to Power BI, Tableau, Excel, Google Sheets etc.
- Programming languages such as Python, R, SAS
PJM will not be providing Housing/Transportation assistance, the successful candidate must be able to come on-campus when needed.
