Title: Laboratory Intern
Position Purpose: Under general supervision, performs chemical and physical analysis of animal feed ingredients, feed additives, and any other sample types in support of Phibro Animal Health Corporation manufacturing facilities and Universal Testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, follow and monitor safety policies as recorded in the Chemical Hygiene Plan.
- Maintain and follow safety procedures and work instructions as outlined in the standard operating procedures
- Maintain good housekeeping practices for laboratory safety
- Report any safety infraction and take the appropriate action in accordance with the Prince Document System.
- Monitor laboratory supplies for replacement or replenishment
- Participate in special projects as assigned by the Assistant Laboratory Manager or Laboratory Manager
- Engage in light physical labor with appropriate personal protective equipment
- Monitor laboratory and test equipment for condition and calibration, and assists with repair or replacement
- Perform laboratory tests according to appropriate procedures, work instructions, or Internal Manufacturing Specifications.
- Utilize the laboratory data systems to maintain records necessary to support analytical results
- Generate spreadsheets, worksheets, and other statistical data for analysis
Education and Additional Requirements
- In process of earning a bachelor’s degree in science related field.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
Reporting Relationships: Reports to the Assistant Laboratory Manager
Accountabilities: Accountable for following proper work instructions as outlined in laboratory procedures and from training received from other laboratory personnel. Accountable for following Phibro Mineral Nutrition and Nutritional Specialties safety and quality procedures.
