Planner Intern - Summer 2025

ATI is seeking a Planner Intern to join our Operations and Supply Chain team. This position is part of the Specialty Alloys and Components (SA&C) business unit based in Huntsville, Alabama. This is a day shift position and typically works Monday-Friday and reports to the Sr. Leader of Operations. Our Summer 2025 Internship Program runs from June to August.

As a Planner Intern you will undertake projects that will support process standardization and eliminating process inefficiencies at ATI Huntsville.  Interns will learn teamwork and problem-solving skills from working with cross-functional team members in a metals manufacturing environment. They will learn to apply continuous improvement tools for troubleshooting and managing process changes. Interns will be able to apply for available ATI positions after graduation.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Interns will spend week one in safety and quality training to become familiar with ATI operations and products.
  • Interns will initially shadow planner/s to learn the supply and manufacturing processes at ATI-Huntsville.
    • Inventory management
    • Supply chain flow, problem solving, and management
    • Process flow and production management
  • Assist planning in identification and resolution of issues that disrupt supply chain and customer commitments. Interns will perform tasks such as data collection and analysis. 
  • Assist planning group with order review and approvals.
  • Utilize Oracle to update batch step dates, ensuring timely material flow and adherence to production schedules.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's program focusing in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Planning, or other relevant field.

Preferences

  • Proficiency with Excel, Power BI, and/or Oracle would be considered a plus.

Preferred Certifications

  • Microsoft Office Specialist: Excel Associate or Excel Expert.
