Mortgage Operations Intern
Waterstone Mortgage is looking for a Summer Intern to assist our Loan Delivery department full time from May - August 2025! Interns at Waterstone Mortgage gain priceless hands-on experience. You’ll learn how it feels to be in the workplace and become a valuable member of our team. In particular, the Mortgage Operations Intern will focus on learning industry terminology and regulatory guidelines related to the mortgage industry.
SUMMARY:
The Mortgage Operations Intern is responsible for the timely delivery of credit and closing files to Investors or Agencies as well as recording, tracking and reconciliation of mortgage documents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process files for shipment to Investor or Agency based on most urgent delivery date.
- Audit the closing package for compliance with Investor and Agency requirements.
- Prepare and audit entire package to be shipped to the Investor or Agency.
- Initiate any post-closing follow up from review of Investor package; review for missing signatures provide appropriate notes in Loan Originating System .
- Complete file retention procedures.
- Sort, label, track and ship original Recorded Mortgage/Deeds of Trust and title policies to required Investors and Agencies based on Investor and Agency deadlines.
- Follow up for Mortgages/Deeds of Trust that are aging and not yet received at WMC.
- Maintain necessary data entry within Loan Originating System to track status of final documents.
- Scan, label and upload recorded Mortgages/Deeds of Trust and title policies into Loan Origination System.
- Maintain confidential information.
- Perform additional duties as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must be currently pursuing a degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate or related field.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
