Alkek Library- Course Reserves Assistant
Alkek Library is looking for a Course Reserves Assistant to assist the circulation specialist on placing books on reserve for courses. This position will work between 10-15 hours per week. Please apply with your resume and Summer/Fall 25' schedule.
Job duties entail retrieving books from our collection and creating/adding course information in Folio. Additionally, they will assist in the physical process of placing books on reserve and in the management of electronic faculty files. They will engage with faculty via email during annual summer notifications.
- Create, edit, and delete courses in Folio.
- Edit, print, and cut reserve labels to be placed on books.
- Assist in electronic management of faculty files. Editing and printing spreadsheets.
- Assist in the management of secured collection. Shelf reading, returning books to appropriate location, and search for missing items.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Library of Congress Classification (LCC).
- Previous experience working or volunteering in a library is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (word, excel, outlook).
- Knowledge in Teams application.
The ideal candidate will have time managing skills, attention to detail, communication skills both written and verbal. Punctuality, initiative, and ability to complete assignments on time.
The employee evaluation process will be at the end of each semester and evaluated based off employee performance. This position is temporary and poor work performance, failure to adhere to policies, and schedule will be factors considered for not continuing employment.
Payrate is set at $10 per hour.
