Communications Assistant - Catholic Herald

CATHOLIC HERALD — COMMUNICATIONS ASSISTANT 

The Communications Assistant will report to the Editor and will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the publication, including administrative duties, reception, page production, content creation, and other duties as assigned.

Duties include:

• Internal and external communications, e.g. phone, email, postal mail
• Assisting with invoices, orders, and other office organizational tasks
• Assisting with newspaper layout.
• Designing ads and promotional materials.
• Producing and placing content for the website and social media channels
• Occasional photography and writing assignments.

Required Competencies:

• A flexible, can-do attitude and willingness to jump in on a variety of projects.
• Personally and joyfully seek to know, love, and serve Jesus Christ through active participation in the life of the Catholic Church.
• Publicly profess and strive to follow Catholic teachings as proclaimed by the Magisterium of the Church.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to collaborate effectively and joyfully with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Microsoft Office, Adobe (InDesign and Photoshop), Canva, layout design, and database experience or a willingness to learn.
• College degree preferred.

Normal Work Days & Hours:

• Monday – Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
