Job Description
Analytical Mechanics Associates, Inc., (AMA) is seeking a part-time Intern to learn a variety of project administration support services involving data review, reporting, project coordination, risk, configuration management, and other related duties supporting Project Planning, Schedule and Control and individual Project/Program Manager(s). Providing support in planning, managing, and monitoring projects through its life cycle at the NASA Neil A. Armstrong Flight Research Center in Edwards, California. The successful applicant will live within a reasonable commuting distance from NASA AFRC and capable of supporting in person for face-to-face training and mentoring.
This is an onsite position at NASA Neil A. Armstrong Flight Research Center in Edwards, California. Candidates must be local to Edwards, CA.
Salary is $21-$26/hr
Responsibilities:
- Will work closely with various Project Support and Configuration Management Office Staff and various Project Team Members to learn how to coordinate projects; develop schedules, reporting criteria and records; research and compile statistics and data for projects; and may assist in writing narratives for reports at AFRC.
- Will learn to identify and discuss potential resolutions to issues in an effort to eliminate or mitigate the occurrence of consequences that may impact the success of the project.
- Will learn to monitor project timeline; track document submissions; create, monitor and maintain audit files.
- Will learn how to prepare monthly reports with associated footnotes; evaluate and monitor the performance and efficiency of projects to ensure that implementation is on target.
- Will learn the Configuration Management process and procedures to maintain configuration control of aircraft fleet.
- Will learn how to work as a Contractor within a Civil Service environment, balancing home office requirements with job duties.
Requirements:
- Experience with Microsoft Office Applications.
- The successful candidate will have a strong desire to learn scheduling, risk, and configuration management support for multiple project management styles and the ability to work within a diverse project team.
- Ability to work closely with specified personnel to facilitate effective planning and execution of critical objectives in a timely manner and adherence to plans and schedules.
- Ability to work with minimal or no supervision.
