Are you ready to make an impact and grow your career? The City of Dickinson is looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking Deputy Finance Director to oversee our Finance and Utility Billing divisions. This key leadership role offers the chance to drive financial excellence and opens the door to exciting career advancement within our evolving organization.

Salary: $93,512.97 - $130,940.74 Annually, depending on qualifications and experience

Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM; Friday, 7:30 AM – 12:30 PM
 

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and manage Finance and Utility Billing operations with a focus on efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Serve as the City's Investment Officer, Public Funds Custodian, and Financial Risk Manager.
  • Oversee budget development, financial reporting, and coordinate external audits.
  • Develop and enforce policies that protect and strengthen City assets.

Advise on major capital projects, pension programs, and long-term financial strategies.

Represent the City in public meetings, on committees, and at professional conferences.

What We’re Looking For:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: 6+ years in governmental accounting, including leadership roles—or equivalent qualifications.

Skills: Strong leadership abilities, municipal finance expertise, and proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.

Certifications: CPA, CGFM, or CPFO highly desirable.
