President/Chief Executive Officer

PRESIDENT/CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

 

Fusco Personnel is retained to recruit for a President/CEO to work for a public benefit corporation and political arm of NYS whose mission is to develop, maintain and operate the infrastructure of Roosevelt Island.    

The President/Chief Executive Officer (CEO)shall be responsible for the discharge of the executive and administrative functions and powers of the Corporation, and shall supervise and control the business and affairs of the Corporation. The CEO reports to the Board of Directors and works collaboratively with the Board, staff, stakeholders, and the community to ensure that effective services are provided and management of the Corporation’s development on Roosevelt Island, while maintaining a strong focus on sustainability, growth, and the well-being of the community. The incumbent will be responsible for implementing the strategic goals and objectives of the Corporation in unison with the Chair, enabling the Board to fulfill its governance function; providing direction and leadership toward the achievement of the Corporation’s philosophy, mission, strategy and the Corporation’s annual and long-term goals and objectives. The President/CEO of the Corporation is appointed by the Board in accordance with the Corporation’s By-Laws.

 

Qualifications

  • Candidates must possess a master's, JD or doctorate degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience in the same. 
  • 10 or more years of experience, preferably with the State of New York agencies or authorities, public benefit corporations, public sector organizations, urban development, commercial transactions, operations, legal sphere, real estate, or community services.
  • Proven success in leading complex organizations and managing large teams is desirable.
  • Legal and/or financial expertise is desirable.
  • Experience in stakeholder relations and community engagement.
  • Deep understanding of the New York State governmental structures, laws, policies, and practices is highly desirable.

Skills

  • Strong strategic thinker with the ability to navigate complex organizational landscapes.
  • Exceptional leadership and judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with operations, budgeting, financial oversight, and resource allocation.
  • Ability to build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders, including Roosevelt Island business owners, government officials, and 

 

Salary Range

  • $230,000 - $248,000/yr.
