Sport Clubs Student Lead
The primary obligation of the Sport Clubs Student Lead is to ensure the safety of all Sport Club members and keep the clubs in good standing with the University. In addition, the Sport Clubs manager should be a catalyst for starting new clubs and help established ones reach new heights. These criteria can be accomplished through the following:
1. Assist and ensure clubs complete the GatorX and Registration process in a timely fashion.
2. Schedule club practices at the Mashouf Wellness Center, West Campus Green, and Athletics Gym, using EMS software.
3. Host Bi-Weekly Sport Club Council Meetings with beneficial topics that will promote the growth of the Sport Club officers.
4. Be certain that every club is following proper Risk Management protocols.
5. Organize and host the annual Safety Summit and Sport Club tabling events.
Duties and Responsibilities
- One-on-One meeting with Sport Club Coordinator
- Management Team Meeting
- Bi-weekly Sport Club Council Meetings
- Checking the Sport Clubs email account and responding in a timely fashion
- Holding Office Hours and using them proactively
- Preparing and distributing Travel Binders as needed
- Brainstorming improvements within your program area including Outreach & Marketing
- Planning for future Campus Recreation events
- Going through the Registration Process for New Clubs
- Sport Club Audits
- End of Semester Meetings and Report
- Special Events (ex: Rec the Night)
- Presidents Meetings with each Sport Club
- Hold Safety Summit for Club Presidents and Safety Officers
- Re-registration
- Sport Club Safety Summit
- Attend Semester Campus Recreation retreat
- End of Year Meeting with all officers (outgoing and incoming)
- End of Year Report
Qualifications
- Previous leadership, coordination or management experience is required.
- Must be First Aid, CPR, & AED Certified within a reasonable time from the first day of hire.
- Must be a student at San Francisco State University enrolled in 6+ units, with minimum 2.0 GPA.
- Experience must include use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and use of standard office equipment such as photocopier and telephones.
- Demonstrate leadership skills including strong communication skills and working in a team atmosphere.
- Must be able to work independently without direct supervision on day-to-day tasks.
- Excellent customer service skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and effective problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with student groups as well as faculty/staff and off-campus community groups.
- Ability to complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner.
