Staff Accountant
About The Role
The Staff Accountant will work with our finance team in our Washington, DC office. This role involves collaborating with various departments to gather and analyze financial data, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and preparing financial reports.
Day-to-day, the Staff Accountant will work closely with the Controller and VP of Finance to ensure the accurate and timely recognition of revenue in accordance with company policies and with generally accepted accounting principles and project accounting. As Quadrant continues to grow, this role will have an opportunity to evaluate our current practices in a variety of areas and deliver novel solutions towards improvement. It will also work closely with division leaders, including Research Operations to socialize financial data and provide actionable recommendations off of it.
Responsibilities
- Review/approval of Accounts Payable invoices in Ramp for US and UK for all project-related costs to ensure they are appropriately coded to the correct project.
- Review of Panelist payments (backup)
- Ensuring panelist payments are correctly coded to the correct projects.
- Track unclaimed property in accordance with different State Laws.
- Preparation of Monthly Bank Reconciliations
- Record monthly accruals in QB.
- Preparation of Monthly Balance Sheet Accounts Reconciliations in accordance with monthly close deadline (Related to accounts Staff Accountant is responsible for)
- Accounts Receivable
- Deferred Revenue
- Prepaid Accounts
- Unbilled Accrued Revenue
- Accrued Project Costs
- Accrued Gross Receipts Taxes
- Preparing and sending out client invoices for payments and updating QuickBooks/Workday and Monday.com to ensure all agree.
- Working with Client Ops and Client Teams to ensure revenue is coded correctly in QuickBooks (Qual, Quant, Digital, Other, Etc.).
- Follow up with clients on non-payment of invoices.
- Reviewing Project Revenue and Expenses to ensure all are recorded to the proper projects and revenue classification.
- Apply appropriate revenue recognition policies and guidelines.
- Close projects in QuickBooks/Workday when projects are finalized.
- Backup to Staff Accountant when Staff Accountant is out of office.
- Complete Ramp Reconciliation on a monthly basis.
- Work with Client Ops to provide actuals vs estimates for projects.
- Ensuring all transactions are documented in a way that is consistent with documentation standards for tax and audits.
- Ensure documents are saved down to the G drive and support is attached to transactions in QuickBooks/Workday.
- Making sure the project costs from Trolley are appropriately tagged to the project when they enter QuickBooks/Workday and compare to estimates to understand why (if they are) above estimates.
- Update Monday.com for commission calculations.
- Ad hoc tasks as requested.
Expected Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Business Administration
- 1-3 years experience in accounting is a plus
- Advanced knowledge of accounting software, including Quickbooks Online and Workday
- Strong financial analysis and reporting skills
- Working knowledge of accrual accounting and generally accepted accounting standards (GAAP)
- Experience with international markets preferred

- Detail oriented and advanced organization skills
- Excellent time management skills, able to handle multiple complex tasks with competing priorities simultaneously
