Summary

Growing and forward-thinking Real Estate Investment Manager with $1B of AUM, and over $2B of equity raised, is seeking to build out its capital platform to fuel the firm’s growth. The position, Analyst, Capital Markets & Strategy, will work directly with an owner of the firm to expand the firm’s equity raising network and overall capital under management for the firm’s real estate investment vehicles.  The Analyst will be tasked with growing the firm’s investor contacts targeting qualified institutional investors, endowments and foundations, high-net worth individuals, foreign capital sources, and investment consultants. Specifically, the Analyst will work directly with one of the owners of the Firm to network, set up introductions and meetings, and deliver clear and concise presentations of the firm’s strategies and capabilities to raise capital for a series of multifamily fund equity and debt vehicles that the firm manages. The Analyst will also lead the underwriting/due diligence process for all prospective investors.  Additionally, this Analyst role will simultaneously staff Research and Strategy which is complimentary to communication to the capital markets and will sit in all investment and asset management meetings to understand portfolio performance, market opportunities, and investment strategies.  In this role, the Analyst will help raise over $1B of targeted capital in the next two years for investment into real estate equity and debt and will assist in strategic underwriting and performance processes.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will be expected to:

  • Assist owners of the firm with initiatives associated with capital raising, due diligence on capital strategies (funds), and investor relations
  • Assist Direct or Research and Strategy on general market research, including asset and portfolio performance, rent and sales comparables analyses (i.e. ‘Rent Scrape’), new supply pipelines, and other special initiatives or ad hoc projects
  • Work directly with the lead Partner on Capital Markets to identify potential institutional investors, proper points of contact, both direct and indirect including investment consultants
  • Initiate direct outreach to potential investors with calls and emails and coordinate marketing meetings to present investment opportunities
  • Analyze key considerations for potential investors and assist with the preparation of marketing materials, pitchbooks, due diligence, and models on current/past performance
  • Plan extensive roadshows and schedule all appropriate meetings in geographical areas for presentations 
  • Take notes during all interactions with prospective investors and enter into a CRM customer relationship management tool 
  • Build a network of institutional investor relationships as a foundation for future capital raises while updating the CRM for new leads and contacts
  • Attend industry conferences to build upon network of potential investor contacts 
  • Project manage all offerings through their fundraising cycle including prospect tracking, prioritization of follow ups, due diligence, and the documentation process for closure
  • Ensure data room is current for investor due diligence including updating complex Due Diligence Questionnaires, supplement materials, and investment consultant portals. 
  • Work with broader team to understand and participate in strategy, acquisitions, and asset management to comprehend the firm’s unique qualifications and competitive advantages in the marketplace
  • Be able to write complex answers to potential or current investor’s questions regarding strategy, market opportunities, risks, firm expertise, and real estate underwriting
  • Maintain weekly updates on important research including rent scrape, rent roll, weekly report information, and LTO/NOI growth
  • Assemble all updated performance and research information for quarterly reports to investors and routine reporting to LP’s
  • Proactively monitor the market for upcoming RFPs and allocation mandates aligned with fund strategies and assist with the preparation and submission of RFPs.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree with a concentration in business, finance, accounting and/or real estate preferred or equivalent years of experience.
  • Experience in real estate. 

COMPENSATION: 

$85,000 to $120,000

The listed compensation is the base range and does not include additional benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 410k plan, flexible paid-time-off plan, as well as bonus potential.
