Collections Manager (Departmental Manager 14)

Assist in the daily direction and overall administration of the Student Loan Programs which consist of private loans through the MI-LOAN program and federal loans through the Federal Family Education Loan Program. Coordinate complex Collections activities on behalf of the Student Loan Programs, including the hiring, training, and supervising of staff. Perform professional research and analysis assignments for agency staff, institutions of higher education, lending institutions, and student loan borrowers. Monitor Collections Section for compliance with state and federal laws, rules, and regulations, work with the Attorney General’s office, and with auditors. Develop, recommend, and implement operational efficiencies. Formulate short and long range plans, programs, and policies on student loan issues. Perform other duties as assigned.
