Steward / Prep Cook

Job Posting: Steward / Prep Cook

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Steward/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping a kitchen running smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong organizational skills and a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

Steward Duties:

  • Receive and inspect orders from all vendors for accuracy and quality
  • Properly label and store all incoming items according to FIFO (First In, First Out) standards
  • Break down boxes and maintain a clean and organized receiving area
  • Monitor storage areas for cleanliness, organization, and proper stock rotation

Prep Cook Duties:

  • Assist with basic food preparation tasks as directed by the chef or sous chef
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in all prep areas
  • Support kitchen team with daily setup, mise en place, and closing tasks

Requirements:

  • Prior kitchen or stewarding experience preferred, but we’re willing to train the right candidate
  • Strong attention to detail and time management
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Dependable, punctual, and a positive team attitude
