We are a 35-year, AV rated, 60+ attorney firm (and GROWING) with a true state-wide presence, maintaining offices in Parsippany, Hoboken, Bridgewater, Bayonne, and Red Bank. We are seeking a Paralegal to provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support to busy Litigation practice. Ideally, you will have at least two years of legal experience in New Jersey. Will consider an entry-level candidate if it is the right fit. Primary duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Draft, format, and edit legal documents.
- Typing, formatting, and editing motions, briefs, answers, due process petitions, contracts, resolutions
- Organize and prioritize large volumes of information.
- Legal Research
- Proofread copy for spelling, grammar, and content; make appropriate changes.
- E-filing in State, Federal and Federal District Court
- Filing
- Open and close new matters including conflict checks;
- Provide administrative support (copy, scanning, faxing, etc.).
- Handle other administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Preferably, 2 years of experience as a Paralegal handling work in both New Jersey and New York is a plus.
- Commercial Litigation experience a plus.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local courts and procedures.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills with close attention to detail, and exceptional proofreading skills.
- iManage/FileSite experience a plus.
- Must exhibit a high degree of initiative in managing multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, detail-oriented work environment utilizing excellent judgment and decision-making skills.
- High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
- Heavy communication duties with clients, Courts and other parties.
- Ability to research, gather and summarize data for reports, find solutions to various administrative problems, and prioritize work.
- Ability to use standard office equipment, including personal computer, copier, scanner, facsimile, telephone.
- Willingness to help others in the office if needed.
