Director of Operations

We own a fleet of aircraft consisting of Global Express, Gulfstream, Challenger and Hawker’s.

Who We’re Looking For:

We are seeking a seasoned and motivated Director of Operations to lead our flight operations team and help grow the business. The ideal candidate will be a proven leader with previous experience as a Director of Operations or Chief Pilot, a strong understanding of the business side of a complex operation, a strong work ethic, and a passion for aviation. This is a critical leadership role responsible for managing all aspects of Part 135 flight operations and ensuring full compliance with FAA regulations while promoting operational excellence and superior service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reports to and coordinates with the President of the Company.
  • Maintain full operational control and serve as primary liaison with the FAA.
  • Oversee all Part 135 flight operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant execution.
  • Ensure all pilot scheduling meets FAA duty/rest requirements.
  • Oversee and support the Chief Pilot, ensuring all responsibilities are performed effectively.
  • Supervise and conduct pilot training, ensuring all training records and PRIA documentation are properly maintained.
  • Manage and maintain all formal Part 135 documentation:
    • General Operations Manual (GOM)
    • Training Program & Manuals
    • Ops Specs
    • Compliance Statement
    • Hazardous Materials Manual
    • Personnel Records
  • Lead the development and revision of manuals and documentation in alignment with evolving FAA regulations.
  • Ensure all new hires meet FAR requirements and manage onboarding documentation.
  • Oversee Drug Program Manager, ensuring compliance with testing and reporting.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Maintenance (DOM) to maintain aircraft readiness and file all required FAA reports.
  • Ensure records retention and documentation meet FAA standards.
  • Champion a positive customer experience while maintaining financial objectives and operational efficiency.
  • Lead and support the flight department team in achieving company goals and continuous improvement.

Successful Candidates Will Have:

  • Current type rating in a GIV or Global Express aircraft.
  • Previous experience as a Director of Operations or Chief Pilot.
  • Minimum 4 years of supervisory or managerial experience within the last 6 years over Part 135 operations.
  • Expert knowledge of FAA Part 135 regulations and documentation, including GOM, Training Programs, and Ops Specs.
  • Strong experience communicating with and managing FAA FSDO relations.
  • Experience writing and revising operations and training manuals.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining compliance and safety.
  • Commitment to team leadership and fostering a professional, safety-first culture.
  • Must be willing to relocate to Arizona.

Physical & Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to pass all FAA-required checks and maintain currency.
  • Willingness to maintain punctual, full-time, in-office attendance.
  • Must have clear vision and hearing for operational and communication requirements.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, stretch, and lift in a dynamic environment.
