Planner/Scheduler

Classification: Business Associate

Work Hours: 40+ hours / week: M - F

About the Role:  Performs planning, scheduling, and assigning of functions and personnel within asset and work management processes, including the organization and prioritization of construction and maintenance jobs. Responsible for coordinating with multiple supervisors, staff, field crews, and other departments daily to ensure that customer clearances, traffic plans, community impact forms, switching requests, and critical job details are efficiently managed prior to each job. Coordinates with multiple supervisors to plan and assign system and facility improvements, system and facility maintenance, and high-priority work. Operates in a team environment in the planning, scheduling, and assigning of tasks as determined by customer and system needs, and will serve as backup to other planner/scheduler roles as required. Coordinates multiple tasks and priorities and utilizes multiple information and communication systems simultaneously on a daily basis. Prepares reports to ensure efficient and effective asset and work management processes. Provides additional support as needed; including documentation management, reporting, and project coordination. Must demonstrate the flexibility and willingness to accept additional job duties and assist with emergency restoration events as needed.

 

Qualifications

 

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time.

Minimum Requirements:

Associate degree or two (2) years of documented college level coursework in Business, Technology, or related area (or)

One (1) to three (3) years of demonstrated experience in related field, such as Business Management, Program Management, and/or Administrative Support, and/or recognition as a subject matter expert

Have and maintain a valid driver's license

Strong PC skills, including experience with Microsoft Office products

Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication, customer service, and team skills

Ability to work independently on multiple projects and tasks

Ability to direct the work of others and work well in a collaborative environment

Preferred Requirements: 

A Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Business Management, Transportation and Logistics, or other related field from an accredited college or university

Three (3) to five (5) years of utility construction or system operation experience

Ability to initiate process improvements and implement changes

Experience working with Customer Information, Asset Management, Work Management and/or Outage Management Systems

Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment necessitating attention to detail and high quality deliverables
