Information Support Specialist - Summer Intern

Job Description

 

Title:               Information Support Specialist Intern

Reports To:    Information System Manager

Required Qualifications:                                           

  1. History of regular and predictable attendance
  2.  Must pass mandated criminal background check in compliance with 

 OAC 173 : 3-1-13 if hired after 1/27/1997

  1.  Ability to work cooperatively with internal and external customers
  2.  Ability to communicate in a manner appealing to intended audience
  3.  Valid driver’s license, insurance coverage and willingness to travel as needed
  4.  Ability to follow company policy as per Employee Policy and Personnel Handbook
  5.  Ability to manage time effectively and efficiently
  6.  The ability to lift (approximately 20-100 pounds), climb, kneel, sit, stoop and bend
  7.  Team mentality and strong work ethic
  8.  The ability to read, understand and follow directions
  9.  The ability to write legibly and keyboard accurately

 

General Description:

This position will provide Tier 1 end-user software and hardware support for all of OE Meyer applications and equipment. This includes, but is not limited to PCs, servers, printers, network, and peripheral devices. Additional responsibilities will include the support of TIMS and RCC software for end users. Additional duties as assigned.

 

Essential Functions:                          

  1. Work in conjunction with the IT Manager to provide end-user support
  2. Recommend hardware and software solutions that will aid OE Meyer in providing an effective and efficient work environment
  3. Troubleshooting and corrective action of hardware and software problems as identified
  4. Participate in moves, adds, and changes to the OEM computing environment.
  5. Participate in monitoring and maintenance of systems.
  6. Follow established policies, procedures and technology standards to ensure system availability and security.
  7. TIMS & RCC user support of OE, inventory and other modules as required.
  8. Compliance with O.E. Meyer Co. Safety Manual and all other applicable and appropriate safety standards
  9. Training of company employees on associated software and hardware packages at headquarters and at branch locations as assigned

 

Other Duties and Responsibilities:   

  1. Assist other company personnel as necessary
  2. Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance
  3. Shall keep supervisor informed of problems, concerns and needs
  4. Meet dress code and personal hygiene standards appropriate for work environment (Business casual)
  5. Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor

                                                            

Equipment Operated:

  1. Computer equipment
  2. Telephone system
  3. Scanner
  4. Copy machine
  5. Fax machine

 

Work Environment:

  1. Generally will be in office environment at corporate headquarters or branch locations
  2. Potential exposure to human blood, body fluids, tissue or other potentially infectious materials

 

Work Hours:

 30-40 hours per week

Generally, from 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday, negotiable to fit schedule

May be necessary to work beyond normal hours as indicated by work conditions including emergency situations

 

Additional InformationInternship will run from May through August (possibly extended if agreed upon)
