POSITION:  Activities Director

LOCATION:   District

SALARY:  $71,450 minimum (based on 2025-2026 salary schedule); annual stipend for time required outside regular workday; generous benefits

CONTRACT: 205-day contract; frequent evening and weekend responsibilities

START DATE: July 28, 2025

POSITION CLOSES: May 9, 2025

QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must hold, or be eligible to hold, a teaching certificate issued by the Wyoming Professional Teaching Standards Board.  Experience as an athletic/activities director and experience as a head coach and administrator are desired.  Candidates should have strong organizational skills; a strong athletic background and knowledge of a variety of sports; strong interpersonal relationship skills; the ability to represent the district well in regional and statewide meetings; a willingness to work evenings and weekends; good evaluation skills; strong fiscal and budget management skills; and the ability to make difficult decisions and deescalate individuals who may be emotional.

DESCRIPTION: This position will serve as Activities Director for Lander Valley High School (508 students) and Lander Middle School (320 students).  LVHS is a 3A school and has a wide range of sports including nordic skiing, football, soccer, wrestling, golf, swimming, volleyball, and more.  This position also oversees non-athletic activities, such as FFA, FBLA, and others.  This position is responsible for scheduling events; supervising events; ensuring articulation of sports programs between LMS and LVHS; contracting with officials; hiring coaches; evaluating coaches; communicating with parents, students, community members, other schools, etc.; budget development and management; representing the district at state and regional meetings; ensuring event venues are ready for competition; and above all, ensuring high quality activity programs for students.  This position also assists with general supervision at LVHS.
