Process Engineer

Local Fl Metal Facility is now seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. 

The ideal candidate is responsible for creating/ developing drawings for the shop floor, assisting with the input of the ERP System (Routings, BOM, etc.), manage the ECN process, cell design/ layout, time studies/ standards, and assist production with continuous improvement ideas.

The Process Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize production processes and implement innovative solutions.

1st shift 7:00am-4:30pm  

Duties

  • Analyze current manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement through root cause analysis.
  • Design, develop, and implement process engineering solutions to enhance production efficiency.
  • Collaborate with tooling engineers to ensure proper tooling is utilized for optimal production.
  • Utilize vision inspection systems to monitor product quality and ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects using lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve workflow.
  • Assemble and test prototypes or new equipment as needed to evaluate performance before full-scale implementation.
  • Document process changes and maintain accurate records of engineering modifications.
  • Provide technical support and training to production staff on new processes and equipment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in process engineering within a factory environment, preferably with plastics injection molding.
  • Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, including lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with tooling design and implementation.
  • Experience with vision inspection systems is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
