Position Summary:

Windham Academy is seeking a passionate and innovative Middle School Science Teacher to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will bring excitement for science education and a strong background in STEM, as well as a commitment to hands-on, inquiry-based instruction that inspires middle school students to explore the world around them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging science instruction aligned with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for grades 6–8.
  • Incorporate STEM principles, lab investigations, and real-world applications into daily lessons.
  • Utilize technology and project-based learning to deepen student understanding and scientific literacy.
  • Differentiate instruction to support a variety of learning styles and abilities.
  • Use data to assess student learning and adjust instruction as needed.
  • Foster a classroom culture of respect, curiosity, and academic excellence.
  • Collaborate with STEM team members and participate in school-wide initiatives and events.


     

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Science Education, or related STEM field (Master’s preferred).
  • Valid New Hampshire teaching certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Experience teaching science at the middle school level preferred.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Commitment to Windham Academy’s mission and STEM focus.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with STEM curriculum development and/or integration.
  • Familiarity with Google Classroom, digital simulations, and other instructional tech tools.
  • Background in robotics, coding, or environmental science a plus.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset and a growth-focused attitude.
