The LAN Lab at Morgan State University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position, available immediately.  Our lab, located on the university’s main campus in Baltimore, MD, focuses on the experimental study of bulk thermoelectric materials.  The current project involves material synthesis, thermoelectric characterization, and investigation of mechanisms to develop high-performance thermoelectric materials.  

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented scholar to join our interdisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Ph.D. in Physics, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Proven experience in bulk materials synthesis and thermoelectric property characterization.
  • Fundamental knowledge of X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and Raman spectroscopy.
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and contribute creatively to research directions.
  • Additional experience in LaTeX typesetting and Python programming (including third-party libraries such as SciPy) is a plus.

Position Details:

  • Duration: 1-year appointment, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and research progress.
  • Salary: $50,000–$60,000 per year, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
  • Start Date: Available immediately; position open until filled.
