About New Internet
New Internet is a new publication created by Chapter One exploring the intersection of product, engineering, and design—through thoughtful, journalistic storytelling. We aim to become the go-to source for uncovering how great tech gets built, and the people behind it.

The Role
We’re looking for a sharp, curious intern who thrives at the crossroads of technology and storytelling. You’ll help us shape the voice and editorial direction of New Internet, from pitching ideas and researching stories to writing both short-form insights and long-form features.

Ideal Candidate

You have a technical foundation—whether in computer science, data science, product, or design.

You also love to write. You’re the rare person who can debug code and turn a complex idea into a clear, compelling narrative.

One example background: you're an undergrad studying both Computer Science and English (or something similar).

You're plugged into the latest in tech, design, and startup culture—and have strong opinions or curiosity about where things are headed.

What You’ll Do

Research and write articles on product development, emerging technology, design trends, and more.

Interview founders, designers, and engineers.

Help us craft a distinct voice and point of view for New Internet.

Contribute to our editorial calendar and pitch your own ideas.

Details

Start date: As soon as possible.

Duration: Through September 2025, with the potential to continue part-time during the school year.

Location: Remote or based in Los Angeles (if local).

Paid internship.

If you’re excited about storytelling, technology, and building something from the ground up, we’d love to hear from you.

To apply, send us a brief note on why this role speaks to you, along with a few writing samples (technical or otherwise) and anything else that shows off your work.

We will only consider candidates who have a writing sample (ideally published online).

We also prefer candidates who have built an online audience through X, Substack, or a similar platform.
