About the Role
We are seeking a Marketing Assistant to support Yellow Bag Tech’s marketing efforts by coordinating content, coordinating events, managing the marketing calendar, and ensuring a consistent content flow across channels. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working behind the scenes to ensure marketing activities are executed smoothly and consistently.
This position is not responsible for creating original copy or graphic assets, but will work closely with internal experts (copywriters, designers, and SEO specialists) to ensure assets are correctly prepared, published, and tracked across all marketing channels.
While this is an entry-level position, it sits within a clear development path. Team members who demonstrate strong performance, initiative, and alignment with our values will have opportunities to expand their responsibilities and move into more advanced roles.
Please note that this job does not include relocation assistance. Applicants must be able to commute to the Indianapolis office.
Key Responsibilities
Content Coordination & Publishing
- Coordinate blog posts, email campaigns, and social media content with internal contributors.
- Schedule and publish content across various platforms, including LinkedIn, blog, newsletter, and email marketing tools.
- Ensure formatting, links, visuals, and post details are correct before content goes live.
- Track deadlines and maintain organized content documentation.
Marketing Calendar & Project Management
- Manage and update the marketing calendar to ensure consistent content rollout.
- Monitor the status of planned content and follow up with relevant team members.
- Flag content gaps, delays, or overlaps to keep marketing efforts on track.
Collaboration & Support
- Collaborate with the graphic designer, copywriters, and SEO experts to coordinate deliverables.
- Prepare drafts of marketing layouts using brand templates (e.g., emails, social posts, newsletters).
- Participate in internal content planning sessions and take structured notes.
Brand Consistency & Documentation
- Ensure all content adheres to brand standards (voice, tone, formatting, and visual style).
- Maintain and update internal marketing documents (content inventory, publishing logs, template folders).
- Begin learning best practices in marketing design, messaging, and SEO.
Who You Are
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 0–1 years of experience in a marketing, coordination, or content-focused role.
Technical Skills
- Strong attention to detail in formatting and organizing content.
- Familiarity with content management or scheduling tools (WordPress, Buffer, Later, or similar).
- Experience with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive); comfort using project trackers.
- Exposure to Canva or brand templates a plus—but not required.
Soft Skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong follow-through and ability to manage deadlines independently.
- Proactive, eager to learn, and excited about supporting a mission-driven brand.
