Job description Students will be provided appropriate training in accordance with a schedule established with the UARV Director prior to performing these duties:

 

  1. Provide care to animals, observe, and report changes in the health status or condition of animals to the UARV Director.
  2. Receive animals from approved vendors and exporting institutions into the appropriate caging and provide accurate animal identification.
  3. Feed and water animals.
  4. With the direction of the UARV Director, provide care and housing in accordance with active IACUC protocols.
  5. Perform general recordkeeping for work duties and maintain cleanliness and sanitation of animal cages and facility.
  6. Operate cage washing equipment and other types of cleaning and sanitizing equipment.
  7. Under the direction of the UARV Director, students may collect biological specimens from animals.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned by the UARV Director.

UA student employees must be 18 years or older at the time of their start date. Any approved remote work conducted by student employees MUST be performed within the state of Ohio.
