Mechanical Engineering Intern

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will support the engineering, design and manufacture of vacuum pumps, components, and assemblies for vacuum systems.   

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to the Engineering team and internal customers to develop vacuum pumps and components for integrated vacuum systems.
  • Support the development and documentation of standard procedures, design standardization, and engineering change notices.
  • Work with production and field service personnel to assist with the application, analysis, planning and potential debugging of different vacuum systems. 
  • Perform routine tasks under close supervision using well-defined standards and procedures.
  • Work with the Engineering team to create designs for new products and improve existing designs.

Skills / Knowledge / Experience

  • Full-time student enrolled in a four-year college or university; currently enrolled in at least junior year within an Electrical engineering curriculum.
  • Broad technical background in areas such as CAD design systems, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, and/or electro-mechanical design and control system development.
  • Strong problem solving skills, and the pragmatic application of strong mechanical design theory and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications; familiarity with SolidWorks.
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment
  • Ability to self-motivate and work productively with limited supervision.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
