Rappahannock Electric Cooperative seeks an Intern to join our Economic Development Department. This role will be an average of 29 hours per week. This position is primarily remote with occasional meetings in Fredericksburg or other REC offices. The information below will explain educational qualifications and expectations.

Candidates must be current undergraduate or graduate student with good academic standing (3.0 GPA and above). Preferred candidates will study Business, Commerce, Urban and Regional Planning, Political Science, Economics, Real Estate, Marketing, or other relevant fields. 

Candidates must be comfortable working with spreadsheets and databases. Summer internship will assist with customer segmentation project for commercial and industrial customers to establish groups of customers with like needs. Perform research on local companies to identify their electric needs in relation to reliability, sustainability, and clean energy.  File/record management, enter company and project information into CRM database. Must possess basic computer skills, to include a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including, but not limited to: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and CRM database as required by job responsibilities. 

The successful candidate must possess knowledge of analytical & research skills, be able to communicate in both verbal and written form clearly, possess capacity to understand quantitative and qualitative data collection instruments, the ability to perform job functions independently, and the ability to work well within a team structure.
