Reporting to the Facilities Manager, the Lead, Facilities is responsible for supporting all aspects of building infrastructure, systems maintenance, and coordination of facilities projects. This role is key in ensuring safe, efficient operations across office and production areas while guiding cross-functional maintenance teams and external contractors.
This position is part of the Facilities Department located in Ames, Iowa and will be 100% on-site.
In this role, a typical day will look like:
- Coordinating and supervising building repair, maintenance, and inspection activities
- Supporting predictive, preventive, and proactive maintenance planning
- Assisting with capital projects and contractor scheduling
- Performing inspections and managing regulatory compliance records
- Providing daily guidance and feedback to facilities associates
- Supporting onboarding, safety training, and maintaining standard work procedures
The essential requirements of the job include:
- Working knowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting)
- Familiarity with OSHA and environmental regulations and local building codes
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Computer proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- Physical ability to perform tasks in varied and challenging environments

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.
The compensation range for this role is $32.00 - $40.00 USD per hour.
