Social Media Intern

 INTRODUCTION

Berkshire Busk! Is planned as a 10 weekend summer event in Great Barrington, MA where street performers (buskers) will perform in designated areas in the early evenings on Friday and Saturday. The locations span one end of downtown to the other, creating a "cultural journey." We intend for the performers to be diverse in all ways - age, race, genre and more -- from bands, jazz and classical music, spoken word, dance, jugglers and more. This is a first-time project, and very much an entrepreneurial activity. 

Our social media intern will be involved in the production and distribution of creative content for various social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok. The ideal candidates are majors in Journalism, Creative Writing, Marketing, Graphic Design, Website Design, or another related area. The ideal candidates will have web and social media savvy, excellent writing skills, and some knowledge of Photoshop and WordPress, as well as a desire to put these skills to good use.   To have the best experience, interns should be able to attend the festival in person, at least some of the dates. 

Responsibilities include:

- Maintaining our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feeds; writing and posting creative content, ideally daily.

- Updating our website as needed.

- Developing weekly email marketing campaigns

- Responding to networking opportunities and building relationship with audience and partners

- Producing photo and video content from materials submitted by others, and/or reposting or retweeting content from others.

Qualifications:

Applicant should write a cover letter explaining why they are a good fit for this position. Your cover letter will be the most important part of your application. You can be a current undergraduate or graduate student, if interning for academic credit. Demonstrated success in social media strategy and posting. Experience with photoshop, or photo editing is a plus. You should feel comfortable using social media networks to promote, and engage.
