About Us
Lactation Consultants of America is a rapidly growing lactation and doula services company headquartered in California and Oregon, serving families nationwide. We provide compassionate care through in-home, office, and telehealth visits, and we’re expanding fast—especially our Medicaid-based doula programs across multiple states.

About the Internship
We’re looking for a jack-of-all-trades intern ready to jump into all aspects of a mission-driven, fast-moving healthcare startup. You’ll gain hands-on experience in healthcare operations, social media strategy, research, and insurance claims—all while helping families across the country. This is a remote role, but if you’re based in Southern California, there may be opportunities for in-person collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Support: Help us build engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok

Insurance Claims & Operations: Make calls to insurance companies to assist with claims follow-up

Contracting Support: Assist with provider credentialing and contract management as we grow our doula network

Research & Data: Help compile data from patient screenings for future research and practice improvement

Admin Support: Pitch in where needed across our small, scrappy team

What We’re Looking For

Current undergrad or recent graduate in Public Health, Health Sciences, Psychology, or a related field

Interest in healthcare administration, not just clinical care

Strong work ethic and willingness to learn in a remote work environment

Bonus: Any experience working with pre/postpartum populations—but absolutely not required

Reliable, organized, and ready to roll up your sleeves

Pay: $21/hour

Hours: 20 hours/week (flexible)

Duration: Flexible between June–September

Location: Remote (Preference for Southern California but open to applicants nationwide)
