Environmental, Health & Safety Intern
Scope of Role
The Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S) Intern performs the administrative EH&S processes at the Florence site. This position is located onsite in Florence, KY and reports to the EH&S Specialist.
Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting safety inspections and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with the EH&S team to develop and update safety procedures and guidelines.
- Support the planning and execution of safety training sessions for staff and students.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Participate in safety audits and Job Safety Analyses.
- Assist other departments with document filing, scanning, auditing, etc.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Current college student preferred. High School Diploma/GED is required.
- Entry level position. Prior manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
- Good verbal/written communications skills.
- Working knowledge of OSHA regulations (Process Safety Management).
- Willing to work with hazardous and/or flammable chemicals with PPE.
- Willing and able to work independently and in a team atmosphere.
- Detail oriented and problem-solving abilities.
Compensation: $24.00/hour
Duration: Temporary. Relocation not provided.
