About the Role

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Summer Intern (MBA-level) who is excited to roll up their sleeves and make a direct impact. This individual will support critical strategic initiatives that deepen our understanding of the veterinary landscape and enhance our ability to grow responsibly while caring for more pets.

This is a unique opportunity to work alongside senior leadership and gain exposure to real-time decision-making in a mission-driven, fast-growing veterinary healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities

You will work closely with our Strategy, Growth, and Operations teams to:

  1. Market Mapping & Competitive Intelligence
    • Research and build a comprehensive database of all specialty and emergency veterinary hospitals in the United States.
    • Analyze geographic distribution, ownership models, and service offerings of competitors.
    • Identify trends, growth markets, and potential areas for expansion.
  2. Veterinary Talent Landscape
    • Build and maintain a database of Doctors of Veterinary Medicine (DVMs) working in specialty and emergency hospitals across the country.
    • Map out subspecialties, hospital affiliations, and trends in DVM mobility across major metro areas.
    • Identify high-density talent zones and potential recruitment opportunities.
  3. Competitive Landscape Assessment
    • Create competitive intelligence reports for key markets where Veriats operates.
    • Identify major players, emerging competitors, and local differentiators.
    • Highlight partnership or acquisition opportunities based on market saturation and service gaps.
  4. Data Management & Reporting
    • Structure and organize collected data for use in internal tools (e.g., Excel, Airtable, Tableau).
    • Develop dashboards or summary reports for leadership visibility.
    • Propose solutions for automating and scaling competitive intelligence efforts.
  5. Strategic Insights & Recommendations
    • Translate findings into actionable insights to support decisions in expansion, recruiting, and business development.
    • Present strategic recommendations to leadership in both written and verbal format
