Human Resources Intern

Summary of Position:

The Human Resources Intern will support the Human Resources team by assisting with key administrative and compliance initiatives. This internship offers hands-on experience in HR operations, document management, policy development, and employee engagement support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development of an HR retention policy, including research and drafting support
  • Audit and update federal and state labor law posters based on employee locations; ensure compliance with posting requirements by reviewing relevant labor laws
  • Scan, organize, and digitize HR paper files into the HRIS system, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
  • Support the development and organization of new hire orientation materials to enhance the onboarding process
  • Conduct a comprehensive audit of employee files to ensure completeness and compliance with internal standards
  • Assist in creating and maintaining an HR events calendar to support employee engagement and internal initiatives
  • Help organize and structure the HR shared drive to improve document accessibility and consistency
  • Perform administrative tasks, including data entry, email correspondence, and general project support

Education & Skills:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Familiarity with HR systems or interest in learning HRIS platforms
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working within brand guidelines and templates.

Physical Requirements

  • Hybrid Workplace: Works in both a standard office environment with some remote work opportunities.  Employees are required to travel to the HQ as needed for all staff & department meetings, events, quarterly all staff events, etc. as needed.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds, on occasion as needed, such as office products and supplies. 
  • Must be willing to travel overnight a few times per year (< 10% travel) and work overtime when required as per business needs.
