Communications Specialist

Communications Specialist

 

As a member of the CHS Advancement Team, the Communications Specialist works closely with school administration and faculty to promote the school to current and prospective families, faculty, alumni, the media, and the public at-large. 

 

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: 

  • Assisting the Director of Strategic Communications with internal and external communications, graphic design, marketing, and public relations efforts. 
  • Assist in the conceptualization and execution of CHS print and electronic materials. 
  • Aid in the planning, coordinating, and execution of all activities relating to Open House. 
  • Oversee CHS website updates. 
  • Coordinate and collect photographs for historical documentation and promotional purposes. 
  • Photography and videography at major school events.
  • Aid in CHS social media initiatives.
  • Maintain relationship with local media and manage CHS interaction with media.
  • Provide assistance to Admissions, Alumni and other Advancement Team initiatives including the promotion of major fundraising efforts and recruitment events. 
  • Protecting the Catholic High School brand under the guidance of the school’s overall mission. 
  • Assist other Advancement Team members whenever deemed necessary.

 

Qualified applicant should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in mass communication, public relations, or graphic design, or have three to five years practical experience in the communications field. Applicant must be proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, specifically InDesign and Illustrator, and may be asked to demonstrate such skills. May require after hours event coverage. Communications Specialist reports to the Director of Strategic Communications.
