We are looking for a Social Media Content Creator Intern to help us build our social media presence, share our story, and inspire others with creative, engaging content.
Position Overview
As a Social Media Content Creator Intern, you will play an essential role in shaping the visual and creative content for zhuzh’s social media platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and more. You’ll work closely with the community manager, graphic designer, and other team members to develop a cohesive social media strategy that elevates zhuzh’s brand identity and mission. You will be at the forefront of telling zhuzh’s story, curating captivating content that resonates with our followers while promoting our cultural and sustainable fashion initiatives.
What You’ll Do
Create engaging and innovative content: Develop visually compelling posts, stories, reels, and videos for social media platforms that showcase our products, workshops, initiatives, and brand narrative.
Collaborate with the graphic designer to ensure the content aligns with zhuzh’s brand identity and messaging.
Tell impactful stories: Use storytelling techniques to share the stories of the artisans, our mission, and our community-driven projects in creative and engaging ways.
Support content planning: Help with the creation of a content calendar, ensuring consistency across posts and alignment with the broader marketing strategy.
Analyze performance metrics: Track social media performance and engagement to help adjust strategies and improve content reach.
Help with influencer outreach: Research potential brand ambassadors or influencers who align with zhuzh’s mission and values.
Assist in promoting upcoming events and collaborations: Support the team in creating hype for new collections, collaborations, and initiatives.
Who You Are
Creative and passionate about social media: You have a strong understanding of what works on Instagram, TikTok, and other platforms, and you’re excited about creating content that engages and educates an audience.
Skilled storyteller: You can tell powerful stories through visuals and captions, bringing the zhuzh brand to life in an authentic and captivating way.
Proactive and strategic: You’re self-motivated and excited about contributing ideas, with an eye for trends and a strong desire to learn and grow.
Passionate about culture and sustainability: You have an interest in the intersection of fashion, culture, and sustainability, especially within the context of Africa and the Diaspora.
Organized and detail-oriented: You can manage multiple projects, stay on top of deadlines, and ensure consistency across all social media content.
Great communication skills: You are able to collaborate effectively with a team and are comfortable communicating through social media, email, and other channels.

Requirements
Strong portfolio or examples of previous social media content you’ve created (please include links or attachments).
Experience with Instagram, TikTok, and other social media platforms, including creating content and understanding platform-specific best practices.
A passion for fashion, culture, sustainability, and storytelling.
Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.) is a plus, but not required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to commit 10-15 hours per week.
Must be proactive, organized, and enthusiastic about working in a creative, fast-paced environment.
