Program & Administrative Intern

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR PROGRAM & ADMINISTRATIVE INTERN 2025

The Crossings Animal Society (CAS), a nonprofit animal welfare organization based in Washington Crossing, PA, is offering two 15-20 hour/week paid internships, beginning summer semester 2025.

We are a small but growing 501(c)(3) organization serving Bucks and Mercer counties.  Begun in 2009, our mission is to provide quality care and a loving home for every dog and cat in our area.

Our programs focus on the following four areas:

(1) Working with our shelter and rescue partners for dog and cat adoptions.

(2) Assisting with the cost of life-sustaining veterinary care for homeless dogs and cats, and pets living in families with limited financial resources, through Boris & Natasha’s Veterinary Fund

(3) Providing resource and referral information for pet families and animal lovers through our Animal Help and Adoption Network hotline

(4) Initiating special projects to help dogs and cats in our community

The Program and Administrative Intern is at the center of CAS programs and activities.  As the “hub of the wheel,” she or he interacts with volunteers, supporters, rescue organizations, and our shelter partners, as well as with the Executive Director and Board of Directors. The people in these positions assist with the day-to-day operation of the CAS office, as well as the administrative framework that allows our programs and projects to function smoothly.  She or he is also actively engaged in community events and fundraising.

These positions are a great opportunity for a student aspiring to a career in nonprofit management, animal welfare, marketing, fundraising, public relations, and/or communications.  The ideal candidate is a responsible and dependable animal lover who has strong writing skills, social media expertise, excellent organizational skills, good ability to think creatively and generate new ideas and, of course, wants to help dogs and cats in need.

If you are interested in becoming part of our team as an intern, please send a cover letter and resume.  We look forward to hearing from you.
