Senior Network Systems Administrator

The County of Los Angeles is hiring Senior Network Systems Administrators to take the lead on enterprise-level network operations and cybersecurity infrastructure. If you’re a seasoned IT professional with hands-on experience designing, deploying, and optimizing secure network systems, we want to hear from you.

In this role, you’ll work at the forefront of public sector technology—planning and implementing network architecture, managing complex system upgrades, mitigating cybersecurity threats, and mentoring IT staff. As a technical leader, you'll play a critical role in keeping essential services secure and connected across the County.

 

Salary:  $100,725.84 - $135,743.04 Annually

Core Duties:

As a Senior Network Systems Administrator, you will:

✅ Lead the design and deployment of enterprise network and server infrastructure

✅ Manage firmware/software upgrades for network appliances and storage systems

✅ Oversee network security architecture and incident response efforts

✅ Analyze and optimize performance, throughput, and bandwidth

✅ Guide and mentor team members and vendors on network solutions and best practices

✅ Serve as a subject matter expert and technical advisor for critical IT projects

 

The ideal candidate for the Senior Network Systems Administrator role is a skilled IT professional with a deep understanding of enterprise network infrastructure and cybersecurity. They have proven experience designing, deploying, and securing complex systems, along with strong analytical skills to assess and optimize network performance.

 

Needed to Qualify:  

  • Option I: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field -PLUS- three (3) year of full-time experience in a centralized Information Technology organization within the last five (5) years in LAN design, configuration or administration.
  • Option II: Four (4) years of progressively responsible, full-time experience in a centralized Information Technology organization within the last five (5) years, involving increasing complexity and scope of responsibility in LAN design, configuration, and administration.

We need you to submit proof of education along with the application if you intend to qualify under the option that requires a degree. Acceptable documents are:

  • A photocopy of diploma or official transcript OR 
  • A verification or confirmation letter from the school's Registrar's Office on the official letter head of the school, with college or university seal. It should indicate the date the degree was conferred and be in English.
