
PROJECT SCHEDULER
Position Summary Description
The Project Scheduler is responsible for the development, coordination, and maintenance of project schedules to ensure timely and successful project execution. This role plays a critical part in supporting project managers and teams by tracking progress, identifying potential delays, and optimizing workflows. Provide support services to transmission, substation, generation, business technology, operations, and other capital project managers and teams. The individual will carry out a variety of tasks, including constructing and maintaining schedules, monitoring and informing stakeholders on project progress, performance, and issues; recognizing and countering risks and opportunities; communicating with team members and stakeholders; enforcing project controls, policies, and procedures; and evaluating and suggesting changes and improvements to the project schedule. Support management in the development and maintenance of metrics associated with Seminole’s capital program. Support change management initiatives.
Essential Functions
- Create, maintain, monitor, and analyze capital project schedules using Microsoft Project software
- Develop detailed project work breakdown structures (WBS) with project managers
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for electric utility projects, including transmission, distribution, substation, business technology, operations, and generation applicable projects, including all tasks, milestones, critical paths, and deadlines
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to identify project activities and durations
- Update schedules regularly based on project status and changes in scope, resources, or unforeseen delays
- Track project progress and adjust schedules as necessary to ensure timely completion
- Analyze, evaluate, forecast, and report current project statuses against baseline schedules
- Generate regular project status reports including schedule and performance metrics
- Recommends annual corporate milestones for tracking schedule performance as part of corporate metrics
- Work with the Budget & Analysis team to ensure congruence between capital project schedules and costs
- Work collaboratively with internal cross-functional teams
- Support schedule aspects of the change management process
- Provide periodic reporting to senior management, including the development and upkeep of program dashboards
- Develop presentations and reports at the request of the project manager
- Maintain project history through reports, data databases, and meeting minutes
- Support project managers with applicable project change forms surrounding budget, scope, and schedule
- Participate in site visits when necessary
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of project scheduling processes, tools, and methodologies. Implement “best practices” to optimize project completion
- Perform other duties as applicable to the position or as assigned
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Project Management, Construction Management or related fields. Demonstrated organizational, time management, independent thinking, strong verbal and written communications skills, and leadership skills. Project Management Institute - Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP), AACE – Certified Scheduling Technician (CST), AACE – Planning and Scheduling Professional (PSP) or related certification preferred but not required. Professional and/or internship experience at an electric utility is a plus.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to follow established protective measures including wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE). Must possess a valid driver’s license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Report.
Working Conditions
Some travel and work outside of normal business hours. While working in certain areas of the plant there is the potential for exposure to hazards typical of an industrial working environment.
