Inside Sales Representative

Job Overview:

Responsible for selling technical diagnostic products to laboratories via telephone as part of a specialty point of care team assisting in meeting and exceeding the sales and growth goals as determined by sales management. Provide coverage and develop the best market penetration to existing and prospective accounts in an assigned territory using phone calls, emails, letters, faxes, and other company resources. Individual will have the desire and ability to transition into a field Account Executive (AE) position within 18-24 months of being in the Inside Sales role. AE opportunities may be located anywhere in the US and will require relocation within the assigned territory.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist Regional Point of Care Specialists (RPOC) in maximizing growth in sales revenue and profit by; forecasting, identifying new business opportunities within specified territories, maintaining current business in existing accounts while successfully identifying new business opportunities within those accounts.
  • Maximize the number of sales calls per day as determined by management.
  • Communicates with distribution partners to secure business and establish pricing.
  • Analyze customer needs and formulate solutions by utilizing all available resources.
  • Follow-up on customer inquiries timely.
  • Utilize client relationship management system (CRM) to maintain updated customer and territory records in accordance with company policy and procedure.
  • Participate and cooperate in interdepartmental projects as requested by management.
  • Attend/participate in sales meetings, training programs, trade shows and field travel, approximately 14 days per year.
  • Complete and submit sales reports as required by Sales Management.
  • Correspond with the field sales organization as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • College degree in a business, marketing and or science related field required.
  • Med Tech experience preferred (other laboratory or medical experience will be considered).
  • Candidates with 2-4 years Inside Sales/Sales experience, and/or laboratory tech experience preferred.

Skills, Specialized Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and oral communication skills to articulate highly technical information to customers.
  • Ability to learn and retain technical information (e.g., laboratory testing procedures and various disease states).
  • Ability to read, understand and follow all company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines.
  • Must be a self-starter, detail oriented and organized.
  • Must be able to prioritize and balance workloads and meet strict critical deadlines and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Word/Excel and CRM software.
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrate good judgment.
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting with peers and other departments in a cross functional setting.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance and punctuality requirements.

Requirements (Physical, Mental, Environmental Demands):

  • Ability to work on a PC including repetitive use of a keyboard and mouse for long periods throughout the course of the work day.
  • Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (gloves, face shields/safety glasses, etc.).
  • Must be able to adhere to applicable bio-safety practices when on the manufacturing floor or in laboratories
  • Must be able to analyze and concentrate routinely throughout the course of the work day.
  • May be required to sit for long periods of time through the course of the work day.
  • May be required to travel by air/car for trade shows, meetings and field travel as needed.
