Compensation:

Position Summary & Responsibilities
The position (K0230132)
Design, implement, and maintain new SQL Server databases. Modify existing databases and database management systems or work directly with programmers and analysts to make these changes. Test database related programs and databases, correct errors and make necessary modifications. Specify users and user access levels for each database. Design, develop, implement and maintain SSIS packages. Work on data acquisition, data import, data export and data management activities. Manage physical database resources to include: assist in installation and specify initial installation options; perform database software maintenance; review and monitor system and instance resources to insure continuous database operations (i.e. database storage, memory, CPU, network usage, and I/O contention); and upgrade/migrate databases to current release levels.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: Plan, coordinate and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure. Approve, schedule, plan and supervise the installation and testing of new products and improvements to computer systems such as the installation of new databases. Monitor database performance and take steps, when necessary, to improve performance. Implement, maintain, and test backup and recovery strategies.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School, GED
Licensing & Certification:
- Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Successful completion of 24 hours in computer science coursework or certification and three years’ experience designing/analyzing, coding, testing, debugging database programs or system software programming and analysis or four years’ experience designing/analyzing, coding, testing, debugging database programs or system software programming and analysis.
- Data Analytics, Data modeling, Data Reporting
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Must have familiarity with server operating systems and database management.
- Experience in building redundancy, high-availability and backup for database.
- Experience in database security principle and regulatory compliance.
- Knowledge of T-SQL languages
- Need to be able to create and understand database design documentation.
- Knowledge of data base manipulation languages and scripting - PowerShell
Preferred Qualifications:
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
- Proofreading, editing, attention to detail
Post-Offer, Pre-employment Requirements:
- Have successful experience scoping, requirements gathering, implementation, training and ongoing maintenance of multiple reporting systems and related tools.
