Business Development Associate

Position Summary

We are seeking a proactive and driven Business Development Associate to work directly with the Director of Business Development. In this role, you will support the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities, foster client relationships, and collaborate with internal teams to ensure project success. This position offers hands-on exposure to engineering, program management, and sales processes, making it an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to and grow within a fast-paced, innovative organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Market Research and Analysis:
    • Conduct research to identify emerging markets, client needs, and competitive trends.
    • Evaluate opportunities to align with company strengths and strategic goals.
  • Proposal Development:
    • Assist in preparing compelling and competitive proposals, including concept designs and detailed plans.
    • Review and analyze customer requirements to ensure alignment with project capabilities.
  • Concept and Design Support:
    • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop innovative solutions for client challenges.
    • Assist in component selection and initial design concepting.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Support the Director of Business Development in fostering and maintaining client relationships.
    • Help coordinate meetings, presentations, and follow-up communications.
  • Administrative and Organizational Tasks:
    • Manage and organize documentation, including proposal drafts and research materials.
    • Ensure routine and scheduled tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to understand and communicate engineering concepts effectively.
  • 2+ years of experience in business development, sales engineering, engineering, or a related role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, CRM systems, or SQL is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills with a self-directed approach to work.
