Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS)

Job Summary

1-year, full time contract in Fort Harrison, MT with a possibility to extend. Per diem available to anyone traveling more than 50 miles. 

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and analyses to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of diseases. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, and laboratory procedures, as well as the ability to work effectively with a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform onsite pathology and laboratory medicine services
  • Conduct laboratory tests and analyses on patient samples, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
  • Maintain and operate laboratory equipment, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Document test results accurately and maintain detailed records in accordance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to interpret test results and provide insights for patient care.
  • Monitor vital signs and assist in the preparation of samples for further analysis.
  • Stay updated on advancements in medical technology and laboratory practices to enhance testing efficiency.

Skills

  • Proficiency in medical terminology related to laboratory practices.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology and its application in a clinical setting.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with medical staff and reporting findings.
  • Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting issues that may arise during testing processes.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship or Green Card
  • Bachelor of Science degree in medical laboratory science or a related science
  • At least 1- year of clinical laboratory experience.
  • Certified by the American Society of Clinical pathology (ASCP), Board of certification or Board of Registry, American Medical Technologist, or American Association of Bioanalytic.
