Business Intelligence (BI) Intern
Position Overview:
This internship presents an exciting opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in data analysis, visualization, and business intelligence tools/techniques. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of data, a passion for leveraging data to drive decision-making, a curiosity that enables them to ask insightful questions, and an independently motivated desire to go seek answers to questions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in collecting, cleaning, and organizing data from various sources to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with team members to develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover insights and trends that can inform business strategies and initiatives.
- Learn about data modeling, table relationships (cardinality), data cleaning/ETL processes, infrastructure analysis, Database security, business intelligence integrations, Row Level Security (RLS), Column Level Security (CLS), Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration, and many other BI related practices.
- Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation within the BI environment.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in business intelligence, data analytics, and data visualization techniques.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, BI/BA related certifications, or relevant associated work experience.
- A natural curiosity that propels you into asking questions and pursuing answers.
- A demonstrated ability to look at something complex, without losing interest, until you understand it.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze complex data sets.
- Familiarity with the Data Analytics Process is also helpful but not required.
- Proficiency in data manipulation and analysis using tools such as Excel, SQL, or Python.
- Familiarity with business intelligence concepts and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Sisense, QlikView, Looker, Domo, SAP Business Objects, Google Analytics Suite, etc.) is a plus but not required.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members across different departments.
