Cyber Security Administrator
This is a technical position responsible for assisting with the day-to-day administration of a department or agency’s cyber security program.
Duties involve assisting in analyzing security threats and the processes, policies and protocols that prevent them.
Day-to-day monitoring of a network is conducted to thwart threats and protect data.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES:
Assists with the administration of cyber security systems and applications that include, but are not limited to, Anti-Virus content management (internet filtering), data protection/analytics, phishing/virus/ransomware attacks, server management (operating system/patching, and workstation management);
Works with information technology vendors including performing vendor relationship management activities, ensuring proper support as defined in contracts; supports technology products and services managed by department or agency;
Monitors cyber threats that can affect a department or agency;
Works with information technology team and vendors when placing appropriate monitoring and reporting tools;
Works with infrastructure team on mitigating threats and reporting incidents accordingly;
Investigates, evaluates, and implements new technologies with cyber security;
Assists in the development of security procedures.
