Morning News Anchor

KPLC-TV in Lake Charles seeks a motivated and dynamic anchor to join our morning news team. A successful candidate must be a proven leader who is motivated and passionate about storytelling. The Ideal candidate must be an effective communicator who excels in delivering a variety of stories in scripted and breaking news situations. The ability to cultivate sources, enterprise stories, and produce a weekly franchise is a must. Applicant must have a love for local news, a passion for creative storytelling, and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to generating story ideas, shooting/writing/editing stories for broadcast and digital platforms, and anchoring newscasts. Maintaining professional social media accounts and assisting producers and reporters to showcase stories are vital. 

Qualifications include possessing strong delivery and reporting skills, along with the ability to adlib. The successful candidate must also be proficient in digital platforms and meet social media and CTV goals as outlined by management. Experience in shooting/editing own stories and a college degree in journalism or related field are also required. Driving is required for this position, so an MVR check is required.
