RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB DESCRIPTION: 

The PSEO Office works with high school students enrolling in university courses. Students enroll in courses on campus and in concurrent enrollment courses at their high school. This position will be an important part of the PSEO Office staff in helping to provide an overall positive experience for students, support PSEO staff, and maintain relationships with K12 partners.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Helping to organize and plan campus events that will build a stronger community of PSEO students and educate them on the resources and opportunities available at the university.
  • Serve as an advisor to PSEO students, educating them on intentional course selection that will help them meet their current and future academic goals.
  • Professionally, communicate with students, faculty, teachers, and counselors via email and other forms of communication.
  • Assist in developing print material for marketing, working with PSEO staff and University Creative Production to ensure appropriate branding and accurate content.
  • Help monitor and track document submission for concurrent enrollment accreditation purposes, using the Microsoft suite of tools.

Additional Responsibilities may include:

  • Some travel to concurrent enrollment schools to represent the PSEO Office, helping students apply to the university.
  • Represent the office at PSEO informational nights, presenting basic information about the university and the PSEO experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • A bachelor's degree
  • Admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by start date.
  • Enrolled in a minimum of six (6) graduate credits per semester during assistantship, and in good academic standing.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Previous experience with event planning and management
  • Knowledge of design software such as Adobe or Canva
  • Attention to detail, professionalism, and strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.

SALARY/STIPEND: Up to $10,000 plus tuition stipends, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment, and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for a tuition waiver. 

RELATED INFORMATION: 

Minnesota State System policy requires that graduate assistants must reside within the State of Minnesota for the duration of their appointment.
