Position Title:  Data Entry Associate

Organization:  IU School of Medicine

Department/ Office:  Pediatrics Department- Child Protection Program

Hourly Wage:  $15/hour

Number of Openings:  1

Average Hours/Week:  up to 29 hrs/week

 

Office Mission: The program provides comprehensive medical evaluations for suspected child abuse and neglect victims, crisis counseling services for families, and leadership in education, communication and coordination of services around child maltreatment issues. Child Protection faculty members are board-certified in child abuse pediatrics. This program encompasses a professional team of highly dedicated physicians, nurses, social workers, health educators and ancillary staff.

General Purpose:  This position will assist in data entry for the Child Protection Program at the IU School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics. The role is critical in ensuring that clinical and research data is accurate, well-organized, and accessible for ongoing program evaluation and improvement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  The student in this position will: 

  • assist the current Research Data Assistant with ongoing and new data entry projects
  • accurately enter data in a secure database
  • maintain confidentiality and data security 
  • help with verifying data accuracy and completeness 
  • assist with basic data cleaning and organization
  • support administrative tasks related to data tracking and reporting
  • communicate effectively with program staff and supervisors on progress
  • other duties as assigned

Desired Qualifications:  

-Availability: 

  • availability to work up to 29 hours a week 

-Education/Experience: 

  • must be a current IU Indianapolis student
  • preferred background in a related field
  • previous data entry experience is a plus

  • strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • proficiency in basic data entry tools
  • excellent organization and time management
  • ability handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
