Job description
The Career Center facilitates the career readiness of all students in the K-State community. We help students explore their interests and values, develop their potential through internships and involvement, teach them to tell their story through resumes and interviews, and connect them with employers and opportunities. We offer individual advising, assessments, workshops, career classes, and events that help clients explore majors and careers, develop job search strategies, and make direct links to employers interested in hiring K-State students.
The Event Planning Interns will help plan and support at least four career fairs/events over the course of the academic year. These career fairs and career events help connect students and employers for both internships and full-time employment.
Qualifications:
- Strong organization and planning skills
- Good attention to detail
- Database management skills
- Self-motivated, proactive and team oriented attitude
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Knowledge or interest in apparel and textiles
Responsibilities:
- Manage in-take system for donated clothing
- Sort, classify, and organize clothing items
- Provide input about the physical layout and furnishing of the Closet space
- Coordinate merchandising, displays and special promotions
- Assist students with clothing selection and care of professional attire
- Assist with clothing drives and pop-ups around campus
- Other duties as assigned
Hourly Wage: $9.00
Conditions of Appointment:
Flexible scheduling of 10-15 hours per week (anticipate more around events. May involve some weekends for clothing drives at K-State and community functions.)
