Human Resources Intern
Primary Job Duties:
• Process employee changes in the HRIS system to ensure accurate record-keeping and proper deductions.
• Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions.
• Complete forms I-9, verifies I-9 documentation and maintains I-9 files.
• Make photocopies; mail, scan and email documents; and perform other administrative functions.
• File documents into appropriate employee files.
• Assist or prepare correspondence as requested.
• Assist with planning of employee engagement activities.
• Prepare new-employee files and benefit enrollment packets.
• Ensure background checks and all other pre-employment testing is completed.
• Other related duties & responsibilities as assigned.
Skills/ Experience:
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
• Must have strong organizational, communication and documentation skills
• Should have strong problem solving skills
• Must be proactive and detail-oriented
Education Background:
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
• Mobility and dexterity to move around office settings including accessing file cabinets or storage and navigating to different workstations.
• Must be able to remain stationary for extended periods of time and engage in some repetitive motion.
• Standing, walking and sitting for extended periods of time.
• Mobility and dexterity to move around operating machinery and powered industrial equipment.
